Barabanki: Mata Jwalamukhi Temple located in village Ambore near Udhauli Mor on Ayodhya highway has been the center of faith for hundreds of years. A large fair is organized in the temple on Autumn and Spring season. Small fairs are held on Friday and Monday. Thousands of devotees come here to fulfill their wishes. The temple is looked after by the priests of the Mali family.
Abharan (pond) located in the temple premises has special significance for devotees. It is believed that taking bath in it cures incurable diseases. The eye light also comes back from the water coming out of the temple. But this year there is a shortage of water in the pond due to low rainfall. Also, the level of dirt is so high that bathing can be dangerous for health.
Local people have demanded immediate cleanliness from the administration. The Block Development Officer Strait has filled the water in the pond. But the villagers say that the dirt is still present. Earlier, in the Panchayati Raj system, the village head used to get regular cleaning under the supervision of the Sub -Collector. Now this system has deteriorated.
