Do not do these things on Diwali-
For Diwali, clean the entire house and make sure that there is no impure thing of any kind near the place of worship. Like shoes, slippers, dustbin etc. Apart from this, do not make the mistake of consuming tamasic things like meat and alcohol on the day of Diwali. Otherwise Goddess Lakshmi will leave the house forever and the person’s life will be spent in poverty.
Iron and steel utensils should not be used even by mistake during Lakshmi Puja on Diwali. Nor use glass or plastic utensils in worship on this day. It is considered inauspicious. It is auspicious to use copper, brass and silver utensils in Goddess worship on this day. You can also use earthen utensils.
Do not insult women on Diwali even by mistake, it is considered a great sin. By doing this, Goddess Lakshmi gets angry and the person has to live in poverty. Apart from this, avoid lending and borrowing money on Diwali and also do not wear black colored clothes, it is considered auspicious.
