Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: Business flourished due to the rush of customers in the markets of the capital for Dhanteras shopping. During the auspicious time, customers purchased wholeheartedly. There was a trade of Rs 2,380 crore in all markets including bullion, electronics, utensils, vehicles, clothes, mobiles, decorative items, property. The maximum turnover was of property worth Rs 500 crore. Electronics and automobiles worth Rs 250 crore each and sawdust and gatta kheel worth Rs 25 crore were sold. Shopping continued till night in all the markets including Aminabad, Nazirabad, Hazratganj, Chowk, Rakabganj, Yahiyaganj, Gomtinagar, Aliganj, Patrakarpuram, Alambagh, Naka Hindola, Ganeshganj. The tinkling of utensils was heard in the Yahiaganj utensils market late in the evening. People only took delivery of vehicles today. The vehicle showrooms became empty by night. There were no vehicles either in the warehouse or in the showroom. Same was the condition of bullion and electronics market. Mobiles and laptops were also sold extensively in all the major markets of the city including Shriram Tower, Indiranagar, Hazratganj.
Mobile, accessories and laptop business worth Rs 175 crore
There was a buzz in the electronics market. There was a crowd of people buying mobile phones in Shriram Tower till night. UP Mobile Association President Neeraj Johar said that mobiles and accessories worth Rs 175 crore were traded in the capital. Apart from this, laptops and many articles related to them were also sold in abundance.
The shine of the bullion market increased
Chowk Sarafa President Kailash Nath Jain and Siddharth said that business has been good. There were buyers at the shops till night. There was demand for light and designer jewellery. Gold coins and silver coins were sold in abundance. According to Vinod Maheshwari of Lucknow Sarafa Association, the markets remained buzzing till night. There were a lot of buyers of silver and gold. Lucknow Bullion’s Joint Minister and Chowk businessman Adish Jain said that Bullion’s business of non-branded jewellery, coins, sovereigns etc. was worth around Rs 200 crore. Whereas branded showrooms do not release their figures but the business has not been less than this. The silver coins ran out late in the evening. After that the demand of the customers was fulfilled by ordering a new batch of coins. At the same time, Anurag Rastogi, North India Head of IBJA, said that the market was excellent. Youth and new couples especially bought gold for investment like the stock market. Investing money in gold has always been profitable.
Showrooms empty of vehicles, delivery of 567 vehicles
People picked up the delivery of vehicles booked earlier on Dhanteras today regarding auspicious time. 567 vehicles have been registered. Most of the customers worshiped the vehicles and took them out of the showroom. Plucked coconuts and got photo shoots done with their families in vehicle delivery companies. At many places, parents first took their children in four-wheelers and took their photographs. There was a lot of buzz in the automobile sector on the occasion of Dhanteras. Be it warehouse or showroom, vehicles ran out at all places by evening. This time an increase of 20 percent has been recorded in the sales of EV vehicles on Dhanteras. Registration of vehicles continued till late night. Till 6 pm, about 567 vehicles were registered. Of these, 287 are four-wheelers and 188 are two-wheelers. 112 electric vehicles have also been registered. Officials said that this sequence continued till late evening. As the evening approaches, the speed of registration of vehicles is also increasing. From October 1 to October 29, 23,516 vehicles were sold.
BMW and Audi Q came out, motorcycles worth three lakhs also sold
The most expensive car in the showroom of the capital was registered on Tuesday, BMW’s XM car worth Rs 2.65 crore. Its registration was done on Monday, but on the occasion of Dhanteras it was taken out of the showroom. Its Audi car worth Rs 70 lakh has also been registered. Audi car worth Rs 70 lakh came on the roads. A BMW motorcycle worth Rs 3 lakh was sold. Apart from this, registration of many expensive vehicles has not been done yet.
More than 600 registries took place on Dhanteras
On Dhanteras, while on one hand there was purchase of goods, on the other hand there was a competition for purchase and registration of properties. From morning till evening, registration was done in more than 600 sub-registrar offices in the district. These include residential, commercial buildings and land and agricultural land. Maximum 250-250 registries have been done in Sadar and Sarojini Nagar offices.
Firecracker business gained momentum, shopping continued till night
The wholesale business of firecrackers was already going on and now 1,050 retail licenses have also been issued for different areas of the city. Senior General Secretary of Lucknow Fire Works Dealer Association, Satish Mishra said that the business has started. The total business by Diwali is expected to be around Rs 50 crore. According to Mahesh Chandra Gupta, President of Lucknow Fire Works Dealer Association, it is a bit difficult to say right now if we consider the wholesale market and retail business. But now the firecracker business is gaining momentum. By the night of Diwali, business worth more than Rs 50 crore will be done. According to Gulsher Azad, an old businessman and association member associated with the firecracker business, the retail business will remain vibrant till Diwali.

textile business worth 200 crores

Prabhu Jalan, vice president of Swadeshi Market and Lucknow Trade Board and textile businessman, says that business was better. Buyers from every segment were seen in abundance in the market. Be it decorative textile items like curtains, cushion covers, bedsheets etc., the saree and lehenga market was also busy. There is Sahalag ahead so people are shopping even after seeing it. It can be said that this time the market has touched the sales figure of approximately Rs 200 crore.
