Keep these things in mind during the month of Pausha-
Let us tell you that the month of Paush is also called the month of Pus. During this entire month, marriage, tonsure and other auspicious activities should not be done even by mistake, doing them is strictly prohibited. Apart from this, auspicious works like house warming, deity worship, mundan, sacred thread etc are not done in the month of Paush, doing so may lead to wrath of the gods.
Make sure to fast on the Sunday falling in the month of Pausha. On this day, rice and khichdi should be offered to Lord Sun. Due to this, the blessings of Sun God are showered. Apart from this, ancestors should be worshiped on auspicious dates falling in this month like Amavasya and Ekadashi. Donation should be given to the poor and needy, this increases the fruits of virtue.
One should avoid consuming tamasic things in the month of Pausha. This constitutes a sin. Apart from this, in this holy month, offer water to Lord Sun from a copper pot and also chant the mantra Om Suryay Namah. It is believed that doing this increases happiness and good fortune and also provides relief from diseases.
