Do not do these things on Makar Sankranti-
The day of Makar Sankranti is considered very auspicious, hence do not consume food without taking bath even by mistake on this day. It is believed that such food becomes impure. Donating bath has special significance on the day of Makar Sankranti, but one should not donate oil even by mistake on this day. Donating oil on this day brings inauspiciousness in life and prevents diseases in the family.
Donating white rice and sharp objects should also be avoided on the day of Makar Sankranti. Do not consume tamasic food or alcohol even by mistake on this day. Doing this spreads negativity. A poor person coming home on Makar Sankranti should not return empty handed. Donate something to them.
