Lucknow, Amrit Vichar. Dussehra, the festival of victory of good over evil, will be celebrated on Saturday. Like every year, the effigy of Ravana, a symbol of evil, will be burnt. Learning from this, if the officials gradually start preparations for burning the effigies of the problems prevailing in the city, then the common people will get a lot of relief. The biggest problem in the city is traffic jam.
People are troubled by the traffic chaos. Along with removing encroachment, there is a need to crack down on e-rickshaws like in Varanasi and Agra. A permanent solution will also have to be found to the drains overflowing with filth and garbage. Instead of considering only Transgomati as a city, the bad roads of old Lucknow will also have to be made pothole free. Only then will the effigy of 10 heads of Dashanan be burnt. Special report making officers of different departments aware of their responsibilities.
Jam- Administration, police and traffic officials sit in air-conditioned rooms every day and draw a plan to get rid of the traffic problem. But the reality is that the common citizen is facing the serious problem of traffic jam. Sometimes an ambulance carrying a patient gets stuck in the traffic jam and sometimes school children and people who reach office on time get stuck. Troubled by the vehicles crawling throughout the day, people expect those responsible to provide them relief from this problem.
E-rickshaw chaos
Actually, e-rickshaw was brought to the city as a feeder service. The intention was that poor people should not be transported in pedal rickshaws. This cheap service has now become a hassle for people. Children are driving. Someone is running cross-legged on narrow streets and roads at the desired speed with the help of a finger. They neither follow the rules nor do the Transport Act fit them, as a result their arbitrariness is costing the common people dearly.
Encroachment
There is occupation from footpath to roads in all the major markets of the city including Hazratganj, Chowk, Rakabganj, Aminabad, Moulviganj, Nazirabad, Stationary Bazaar Guin Road, Latoosh Road, Ganesh Ganj, Nadan Mahal Road, Nakhas, Pandeyganj, Charbagh, Naka Hindola, Alambagh. . Areas of New Lucknow like Gomti Nagar’s Patrakar Puram, Indira Nagar, Bhootnath are also with the occupants. What’s more, the footpath of Rastogi Inter College and the gate of Jubilee College located at City Station have come under the control of these encroachers.
drains and overflowing drains
Be it the old area of the capital or the new Lucknow, all are ruining the resolve of Swachh Bharat Mission. Even after decades, the overflowing drains and drains did not subside. Dirty water flows on the road and people make their way through it. But they themselves do not stop throwing garbage in the drains. The claims of making the drains silt free also remain on paper only.
filth and garbage
The Municipal Corporation makes plans for garbage disposal, but neither the garbage is collected nor the disposal plan is implemented properly. Agencies search for goods in the dirt. As a result, within a few months, the promises of the agencies remain limited to papers and tender process. Concrete initiatives will have to be taken regarding garbage disposal, only then the roads and streets of the city will be free from filth. The Prime Minister launched a campaign to keep the country clean. Even after this, people are throwing garbage here and there. We have to avoid this considering our responsibility.
areas suffering from waterlogging
Waterlogging has also become a common problem. Every year people face problems like waterlogging during the rainy season. Such is the situation during the rainy season that people shift their belongings to the upper floor. Ration is bad. Many areas of Ramnagar, Aishbagh and old Lucknow are still suffering from this problem. There is division in the name of budget and the problem remains as it is. The responsible ones keep running the paper horses. When will the responsible people finally realize the vision of developed India and smart city?
food adulteration
People’s health is being openly played with. In the festive season, be it milk or sweets, khoya, masala, fruit juices or desi ghee. Complaints about adulteration are common among all. FSDA also formally conducts sampling. Adulterated items are caught but those responsible in the department are not able to punish anyone. Those selling adulterated food items are playing with people’s health. Such action should be taken against them which will set an example.
poor health services
There is a lot of trumpeting in every government in the name of improvement in health services. It is propagated that while the reality is that no one cares about the treatment, people still have to face long queues to get the prescription made in government hospitals. One has to worry about getting the medicine and in the name of testing, the poor person’s pocket becomes loose. This corruption should be curbed.
Parents troubled by education mafia
There is looting in private schools. From dresses to bags, copies, pencils and books, everything is sold in private schools at arbitrary rates. The common man tries to provide better education to his children by adding every penny. On the other hand, private schools keep increasing fees arbitrarily. Also, several times a year, they lighten the pockets of parents in the name of various events. The standard of government schools will have to be improved further so that people move away from private schools and return to government schools.
Liquor shops should be removed from schools and religious places.
Liquor shops have become a problem for school children and religious people. In the hotels near these shops, people are seen consuming liquor in the open all the time. School going children, especially girl students, are very scared of intoxicated people. Similarly, people visiting religious places also have to face inconvenience.
