Every year, Lord Ganesha’s birthday is celebrated on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated with great pomp on 7th September. On this day, special worship of Lord Ganesha is done. Worshiping Lord Ganesha increases good fortune. According to the Hindu calendar, the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha will begin on 6th September at 3:31 pm and will end the next day i.e. on 7th September at 5:37 pm. In Sanatan Dharma, calculations are done from Udaya Tithi. Except for the worship done during Pradosh Kaal and Nisha Kaal, calculations are done from Udaya Tithi for all fasts and festivals. Therefore, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 7th September only.

Fasts are observed till the time of installation of Ganesha idol. Ganesh Chaturthi and Ganesh Utsav are celebrated with great pomp in the district. There is a religious belief that by worshipping Lord Ganesha, all the wishes of the devotee are fulfilled. Along with this, happiness, prosperity and well-being come to the house.
Install Ganesh idol in this way
According to Vastu Shastra, the idol of Lord Ganesha should be installed in the north-east corner of the house. If there is no space available in the north-east corner, then the idol can also be installed in the east, west or north direction.

On this day, wake up early in the morning and take a bath.
After taking bath, light a lamp in the temple at home.

Meditate on Lord Ganesha.
Also offer bhog to Lord Ganesha. You can also offer modaks or laddus to Lord Ganesha.
Do perform the aarti of Lord Ganesha.
