Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: On the day of Jyeshtha Shukla Dashami, Bhagirath brought Ganga to earth. On this day, there was a descent on the Ganges earth, which we celebrate by the name of Ganga Dussehra. According to Udayatithi, Ganga Dussehra will be celebrated on 5 June. Jyotishacharya SS Nagpal said that according to mythological belief, Maa Ganga came to earth from heaven in Hasta Nakshatra on the Dashami date of Shukla Paksha of Jeth month.
This year Hasta Nakshatra will be on June 5 from 3:35 am to 6:34 am on June 6. Hasta Nakshatra, Siddhi Yoga, Ravi Yoga, Moon in Virgo will be in Taurus. Worshiping in this yoga attains salvation. If you cannot bathe in the Ganges, then take a bath by mixing Ganga water in bath water in the house, 10 digits have special significance on this day. While worshiping, offer 10 quantities to all the ingredients. Donation is also important on this day. The one who does so is released from ten sins equal to the Mahapattaks. Such as 10 flowers, 10 lamps, 10 fruits etc.
