Gonda, Amrit Vichar: Under the Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme, a mass marriage program was organized by the Social Welfare Department on Monday. In a ceremony organized at a private marriage lawn in the city, 550 couples took seven rounds amid the chanting of Vedic mantras. As the chief guest, Union Minister of State for Forest, Environment and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh gave gifts and blessings to the new couples.
The state government is running the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme for the marriage of daughters from economically weaker families. Under this scheme run by the Social Welfare Department, a mass marriage program was organized in a private marriage lawn of the city on Monday. 650 eligible applicants from across the district were called in this program. In relation to the applications, a total of 477 beneficiary families were present in this program. Extensive arrangements were made by the Social Welfare Department for the mass marriage program. Along with the mandap in the premises, learned priests were invited to construct the altar for the marriage as per the rituals and conduct the marriage ceremony.
Seeing the favorable time of planetary ascendant, the priests performed the marriage ceremony with full rituals. 477 married couples took seven rounds while chanting Vedic mantras, taking fire as witness and promised to support each other. At the same time, marriage of 49 couples from the minority community was taught as per Muslim customs. On behalf of the Social Welfare Department, the newly married woman was presented with makeup items, toe rings, anklets and household items. Along with this, an amount of Rs 35 thousand was also transferred to his bank account through DBT. District Social Welfare District Officer Rajesh Chaudhary said that a total of 477 couples were married in this program.
In which 428 couples were married with Vedic chanting while Nikah of 49 couples from Muslim community was taught. Chief guest of the program was Union Minister of State for Forest Environment and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh and Chief Development Officer Ankita Jain and blessed the newly married couples and wished them a happy life. On this occasion, MP representative Ramashankar Mishra DC MNREGA, DC NRLM, Clerk Arunendra Pratap Singh were present. , Mujeeb Khan, Harishdutt Tiwari, Devendra Kumar Gupta and others were present.
