Shimla/RecongPio. The Kinnar Kailash Yatra, which is going on in Kalpa area of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, has been temporarily postponed due to heavy rains and heavy damage to the pilgrimage route. According to Kalpa’s Deputy Divisional Magistrate Amit Kalathk, the major parts of the journey route have been declared insecure. Due to the strong current, foot bridges on the rivers of Tangalipi and Kangrang have been washed away.
The roads have become slippery due to rain and many incidents of landslides have come to light. In view of these circumstances, the journey has been stopped till the next information. Mr. Kalathka said, “The safety of pilgrims is our top priority. All the devotees present on the way have been stopped at safe places and they are being given necessary assistance.”
He appealed to the devotees and passengers that Kinnaur should not plan to come to Kailash until the situation improves and the journey starts again. The district administration has assured the entire security arrangements of the people already present in the area.
The officer is keeping a close watch on the weather and route. It is noteworthy that Kinnar Kailash Yatra is an important religious journey in the state. The administration emphasized that public cooperation is necessary to deal with the current situation and to ensure the safety of all the people concerned.
