Why should one not see the moon on Ganesh Chaturthi?
It is believed that Ganesh Chaturthi was worshipped in Shivlok on Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha. On this day, bathing, charity and fasting-worshipping are considered extremely auspicious. Chandra Darshan is considered forbidden on this special day. It is said that in the Sankranti of Leo, Chandra Darshan on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha leads to false stigma (theft, adultery, murder etc.). Therefore, Chandra Dev is forbidden on this day. If Chandra Dev is seen by mistake, then say this- The lion killed Prasenjit and Jambvan sent the lion to Yamala. O son! Do not cry, this is your Syamantaka Mani.
