Mahakumbh Nagar, Amrit Vichar. To protect Sanatan Dharma, thousands of people have applied in the Akharas to take initiation as Naga Sadhus and the process of giving initiation has started after examining these applications at three levels. Let us tell you that in Mahakumbh, 1500 people sacrificed their lives alive and became Naga Sanyasis. In this, 19 women are also taking initiation to become Naga Sanyasi in Mahakumbh today. All women are being given initiation as per Guru tradition. Mahant Ravindra Puri of Niranjani Akhara said that in the first phase, 300-400 people are being initiated as Naga Sannyasi in Niranjani. There are seven Shaiva Akharas among the 13 Akharas, out of which initiation as Naga Sadhu is given in six Akharas.

Everyone joined the Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara and took initiation to become a Naga Sanyasi amidst the chanting of Har-Har Mahadev. Under the supervision of Mahant Ramchandra Giri, Dudh Puri, Niranjan Bharti and Mohan Giri of Ramta Panch of Juna Akhara, first the Mundan Sanskar of all the people was performed. After this everyone took a dip in the holy water of Ganga 108 times. Performed Ganga puja and Pind Daan. After Pind Daan, everyone in one voice separated themselves from worldly attachments and declared themselves dead.

Mahant Ravindra Puri told that in Niranjani, Anand, Mahanirvani, Atal, Juna and Aavahan Akharas, Naga Sadhus are made whereas in Agni Akhara, there are celibates, Nagas are not made there. The tradition of making Naga Sadhus started by Shankaracharya is for Sanyasi Akharas. General Secretary of Juna Akhara, Hari Giri Maharaj said that there is lack of space for initiation of Naga Sadhus in Juna Akhara, hence they will be given initiation of Naga Sadhu in several phases and thousands of applications have been received for Naga Sadhu.

Secretary of Mahanirvani Akhara, Mahant Yamunapuri Maharaj said that 300-350 people are being initiated as Naga Sadhus in Mahanirvani, for which applications from many people had already been received. Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri said that thousands of people have applied for initiation as Naga Sadhu in various Akharas who want to sacrifice everything for Sanatan Dharma and become Naga Sadhu.

Mahamandaleshwar of Ek Avahan Akhara said that the process of registration has started and slips are being issued, as well as interviews of the applicants are being conducted confidentially, only those who fulfill all the eligibility are given initiation as Naga Sadhu. Is being given. He told that the rites of Naga Sadhus are being performed on the banks of river Ganga, it includes Mundan Sanskar and Pind Daan, these monks perform their own Pind Daan and declare that they no longer have any connection with the material world.

He said that after all these rituals, the process of becoming a Naga Sadhu is completed with a bath in nectar on Mauni Amavasya. Mahamandaleshwar told that all these people will stand naked under the religious flag and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar will give them initiation to become Nagas. He said that the Chairman will tell them the rules of the Akhara etc. and will make them take oath to follow the rules, after completion of this process everyone will be sent for Amrit Snan. Mahant of another Akhara said that it is not that every candidate will be made a Naga Sadhu because during the investigation many people have been found ineligible.

He said the applications were examined in three phases and the process was started six months ago. He told that the Thanapati of the Akhara investigated the background and activities of the candidates and its report was given to Acharya Mahamandaleshwar and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar got it re-examined by the Panchs of the Akhara, only after which the process of making Naga Sadhu was started.
