Delhi. Students of the country’s top educational institutions IITs, IIMs and major policy and management institutes will work with the administration at the ground level in Puri district of Odisha during this year’s Jagannath Rath Yatra. Officials gave this information on Tuesday.
Under the ‘Public Systems and Infrastructure Internship’ launched by the Puri district administration, these students will work at the ground level and study important aspects like mob management, public infrastructure, organizing plans and coordination between various agencies during the chariot journey.
Puri District Magistrate Siddharth Shankar Swain said, “Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra is an excellent example of a huge event, faith and administrative coordination. Now the time has come to experience the reality of talented youth nation building of the country closely.”
He informed that during this internship period of 10 to 15 days, selected students will be entrusted with ground level responsibilities on subjects like cleanliness structure, emergency response system, service camp operation and digital civil participation. The Jagannath Rath Yatra will start from June 27, 2025 and conclude on July 5, 2025.
