Prayagraj, Amrit Vichar: Yogi government has made extensive preparations for the safety of devotees in Mahakumbh 2025. Security arrangements are being made at all three levels, water, land and air. Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar reached Prayagraj on Saturday to test these security arrangements. Along with taking stock of the security arrangements, he also held a review meeting with higher officials. During this, while talking to the media, he clarified that the safety of the devotees is the priority of the state police and preparations for this have been completed at all levels.
He said that adequate security preparations have been made. On the day of the main bath, we are committed to protect the devotees at all three levels, water, land and sky. He said that Mahakumbh is a big opportunity for us, when such a huge human gathering is going to happen on this entire earth. About 40 to 50 crore people will come here in these 45 days. A large number of foreign devotees will also be present here. He said that preparations are being made on war footing for the last few months regarding Maha Kumbh. The infrastructure, equipment and manpower are all compatible. Our preparation is also good and we are trying to improve it further. This time special funds have been released for disaster management, fire safety and traffic.
Earlier, DGP Uttar Pradesh inspected Civil Lines police station. From here he reached VIP Ghat, where he saw the joint mock drill of the police team. After this he reached Sangam while boating and saw the arrangements. He also performed Aachman here. After this he also saw the mock drill of ATS. After this he had darshan of Bade Hanuman ji and inaugurated and inspected the office of SSP Kumbh. He also inspected Akshayavat police station and interacted with constables and inspectors. After this they were shown demos of tethered drones and vehicles. In a high level meeting regarding security arrangements, he took information about the traffic system, security arrangements at railway stations and bus stops. On this occasion he was also shown a film on cyber crime.
State-of-the-art equipment was procured
He said that all kinds of modern equipment have arrived here to ensure that there is no difficulty of any kind. Interceptors have been deployed here. Tethered drones are also deployed in large numbers, anti-drone system has also been installed here. Our water front has been strengthened this time compared to the previous Kumbh. He said that the number and capacity of ghats in the fair area have been increased so that whatever route the devotees are coming from, they should take bath in the same place and return through the prescribed route. We also have a very good coordination with the Railways. He said that we are also working cautiously on cyber related matters. How to secure this cyber system has also been ensured through various efficient agencies.
40% more forces deployed
Regarding terrorist threats and threats, DGP said that our Para Commando team of ATS has reached here. We are considering all types of threats as serious, monitoring them and taking action through departmental coordination and control room. He said that the seven-round security of Maha Kumbh has been ensured and a security cordon has been prepared from the international and inter-state borders to the Kumbh area. Apart from this, 40% more forces have been deployed here than the previous Kumbh.
