New Delhi. The birth anniversary of Pushti Purushottam Lord Krishna was celebrated with great pomp and show across the country on Monday. On this occasion special prayers were offered in temples from Lord Krishna’s birthplace Mathura in Uttar Pradesh to Dwarka in Gujarat. The programs of Krishna’s birth anniversary began with Mangala Aarti in the morning. Mathura was coloured by the birth anniversary of Kanha. Nearly 15 lakh devotees arrived to see the appearance of Lord Krishna. The birthplace has been decorated like a prison. Nandlal was worshipped with 1008 lotus flowers at Sri Krishna’s birthplace.
Navgraha and Shri Ganesh were worshipped. At 11:55 pm, the doors were closed for 5 minutes and at 12:05 pm, the idol of Lord Shri Krishna was brought out of the sanctum sanctorum, where Abhishek was done before the gold-decorated Kamdhenu cow. After this, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Bal Gopal Abhishek was done with about 5 quintals of Panchamrit. This Abhishek continued till 12:40 pm.
At the same time, the doors of the Dwarkadhish temple in Gujarat will remain open till 2.30 pm. Meanwhile, the crowd outside the ISKCON temple in Patna went out of control late in the evening. After this, the police had to resort to lathicharge. It is being told that the devotees were trying to enter the temple by any means. Due to this, a stampede-like situation arose outside the temple. At present, a large number of police have been deployed near the temple. Apart from this, a crowd of devotees gathered in various temples across the country to get a glimpse of Lord Krishna.
