Mothers observe Jiutiya fast for the longevity and good health of their children. It is also called Jiutiya or Jivitputrika in many places. It is said that keeping this fast brings happiness to children. This fast is observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. This time also, due to the difference in the calendar, there is a difference in the date of the fast. Somewhere it is being celebrated on 24th and somewhere on 25th September. This time, Punarvasu Nakshatra is falling on 25th September in Jitiya fast, so fasting on this day will be very auspicious. The time for Jiutiya worship on Wednesday evening is Chaughadiya Shubh Muhurat (Laabh) from 04.04 pm to 05.33 pm. Lord Jimutvahan is worshipped in this fast. On this day, mothers observe Nirjala fast and break the fast the next day. This year the fast can be broken on 26th September between 04:35 am to 05:23 am. Jitiya fast is observed every year. It cannot be left midway.
When will Ashtami Tithi start
This year this date is on 25th September. This year Krishna Paksha Ashtami will start on 24th September at 12.39 pm and will continue till 12.11 pm on 25th September. According to Udaya Tithi, Jitiya fast will be observed on 25th.
