Navratri festival dedicated to Maa Durga is celebrated four times a year, which has its own importance and recognition. Along with fasting during the 9 days of Shardiya Navratri, 9 forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. According to the Vedic calendar, Shardiya Navratri starts every year on Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month, which ends 9 days later on Navami Tithi. This year Shardiya Navratri has started from 3rd October, which will end after Kanya Puja on 11th October.
