Kartik Purnima: One and a half lakh devotees bowed their heads at Baba's doorstep

Barabanki, Amrit Vichar: On Friday, on the occasion of Kartiki Purnima, a crowd of people of faith gathered in Kotwadham, the holy place of Samarth Sai Jagjivan Saheb. About one and a half lakh devotees took a dip of faith in the holy Abharan Sarovar, bowed their heads at the doorstep of Baba Jagjivan Das and offered prasad and prayed for happiness and prosperity. Devotees from Ayodhya, Bahraich, Kanpur, Gonda, Balrampur, Sitapur, Lucknow, Sulwanpur, Amethi, Lakhimpur, Shravasti, Unnao, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Chhapra and Bihar came to visit the fair. There was a long line of devotees throughout the day to offer prasad after taking bath in the holy Abharan Sarobar. The temple complex kept resonating with the cheers of Baba. A large number of devotees received Baba’s blessings by donating paddy in Anjuri. Mahant Nilendrabaksh Das of Badi Gaddi said that the entire fair complex is under CCTV surveillance. Like always, this time also devotees have come from far away places.

In the Kotwadham fair, there are shops of warm clothes, silk clothes and utensils along with circus swings and other means of entertainment. Apart from this, jackets, sadaris and coats for children, women and men are available at cheap prices in many shops selling them. Where devotees did a lot of shopping. Women made huge purchases of beauty items in Meena Bazaar. At the same time, more than 150 animals were sold in the cattle market on the first day of the fair. In the animal market here, a huge crowd of people is seen buying cows and buffaloes of different species and other animals.

There was a rush of people getting shaved
There was a steady stream of people performing the Mundan Sanskar at the sacred Abharan Sarovar situated just in front of Jagjivan Saheb’s pavilion. People from far away places came here to perform the Mundan Sanskar of their children. Some children performed the Mundan Sanskar quite cheerfully, while many children were seen crying in fear. The parents of the children were seen busy trying to pacify them by giving them various gifts.

immense faith in the court
Devotee Ram Padarath, who came from Unnao district, told that he has immense faith in Swamiji’s court. He has taken Gurumantra here. He definitely comes here on Kartik Purnima of every year. By the grace of Bade Baba, all his spoiled works are automatically rectified. Muralidhar, who came from the same district Sitapur, told that he has immense faith in the court of his master. He has been a devotee here from generation to generation. He definitely comes here on the full moon date of every month, Janam Saptami of Magh month and Kartik full moon. Coming here gives them happiness and peace.

Police seen everywhere
From the security point of view, the security personnel near the fair premises and pavilion appeared quite ready. So that the devotees coming here do not face any kind of inconvenience. Badosarai police set up a lost and found center near the fair police station. In which lost people were reunited with their families in the fair. Apart from this, hundreds of police forces in uniform were deployed. Even in plain uniform, policemen continued to patrol the fair premises. CO Saurabh Srivastava said that adequate security forces are deployed in the fair. There are divers near the lake. The devotees who came to Mere did not face any problem.
