Special importance of moon in Nirjala fast
In this Nirjala fast of Karva Chauth, special importance of the moon has been given. There is no worship during the fast without seeing the moon. After seeing the moon, women offer water to it. After that, the sieve looks at the moon once and then completes the fast by looking at her husband through the same sieve. This fast is observed on the Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This is the most auspicious fast for married couples.
