Karva Chauth fast will be observed on 20th October, women should offer Arghya to the moon like this, note down the puja material list from now on.

Karva Chauth fast is considered very important in Sanatan Dharma. It is usually celebrated by married women. Acharya Ashok Pandey told that according to religious beliefs, women observe a strict fast on this day and perform rituals. It is said that by observing this fast the husband gets long life and security. It also brings prosperity to the house. This year this festival will be kept on 20th October.

The fast of Karva Chauth is considered complete only after seeing the moon and offering Arghya to the moon. Moonrise has more importance on the day of Karva Chauth. On this day, fasting women eagerly wait for the moon. It is considered important to see the moon on this day.

While offering Arghya to the moon, definitely take with you the chunni which you were wearing while listening to the story. Look at the moon by placing a lamp on the sieve and then immediately look at your husband through the same sieve. It is said that the custom of keeping a lamp in a sieve was created because earlier when there were no street lights, women used to see the face of their husbands by the light of the lamp in the sieve after seeing the moon.
