Karwa Chauth 2024: In Hindu religion, Karwa Chauth is celebrated in the month of Kartik. This time this fast is falling on 20th October. Karva Chauth is a very important festival. Traditionally women keep a day-long waterless fast for the good health and long life of their husbands. According to beliefs, the Moon is especially worshiped during this fast. What time will the moon rise on Karva Chauth?
According to Acharya Navinchandra Mishra Vedic, the moon will rise at 7.22 pm on Sunday evening. However, depending on the city, there may be some difference in the time of moonrise.
Karva Chauth Puja Muhurat: On the day of Karva Chauth, the auspicious time for puja will be from 5:46 pm to 07:02 pm.

Karva Chauth puja ritual
1. Wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath
2. Clean the temple and house
3. Worship all the Gods and Goddesses as per the rituals
4. Take a pledge to observe Karva Chauth fast
5. Recite the fast story of Karva Chauth at an auspicious time in the evening.
6. Then worship the moon
7. Offer Arghya after seeing the moon
8. Perform Aarti after seeing the husband through a sieve.
9. Then the husband breaks the fast by giving water to the wife.

According to Acharya Naveen Chandra Mishra Vedic, Kartik Krishna Chauth Vrat is also called Sankashti Ganesh Chauth Vrat. The main deity of this fast is Shri Ganesha. After worshiping during the fast, there is a tradition of performing Homa with urad and ghee. Laddus should be offered to Ganpati. Use of Tulsi in Ganpati worship is not appropriate. Whereas Dubbhi (grass) and Belpatra must be offered to Ganesha. Acharya said that under the ethos there is a tradition of looking at the moon through a sieve and drinking water from the husband’s hand. By chanting Shri Ganesh Mantra and reciting Ganpati Atharvashirsha, one should pray to Ganesha for protection from all ten directions.
