The first Kharmas Sankranti occurs when Sun God enters Sagittarius and the second Kharmas falls at the time of Pisces Sankranti i.e. when Sun God enters Pisces. This lasts for a total of one month, during which any auspicious work is prohibited.

Do not do these things during Kharmas-
The days of Kharmas are not considered auspicious, hence one should not do any auspicious or auspicious work during this period. Marriage, tonsure, initiation of new work etc. should not be done during the days of Kharmas. During this period, engagement and Upanayana rituals should also not be performed. Apart from this, one should not start any new business. Otherwise inauspicious effects are seen.
Lord Suryadev should be worshiped during the days of Kharmas. During this entire month, wake up every morning and take bath, after which offer water to Lord Sun and chant mantras. It is considered best to do chanting, penance and charity during the days of Kharmas, doing this brings an end to all the troubles.
