Mother fulfills the wishes of devotees during Navratri.

Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: On the fifth day of Navratri, devotees remain engrossed in the devotion of Skandmata Mata. The temple echoed with the cheers of the devotees. Mother Goddess was decorated with flowers in various temples of the city. Devotees remained in the queue since morning to have darshan of the Mother Goddess.
Maa Durga Temple located in Shastri Nagar is such a temple where devotees come from far and wide to fulfill their wishes. The visiting devotees say that the Mother Goddess fulfills their wishes. Many social works are done by this temple. Because of which the temple is famous in the entire state. Every year 50 girls are married by the committee of this temple. Temple priest Guddu Tiwari said that during Shardiya Navratri and Chaitra Navratri, devotees are requested to offer dry Prasad instead of flowers every day in the temple. Its purpose is that dry Prasad is appropriate to distribute to everyone.
He told that during the days of Navratri, Mother’s court is decorated with materials like children’s toys, biscuits, vegetables, spices and grain packets. This Prasad is used for distribution in Bhandara. The temple committee actively participates in the religious events held in the city. Apart from this, the temple committee has been arranging water service at Parivartan Chowk intersection during summer for the last several years.
Durga temple also does social work
During Navratri days a fair is organized outside the temple premises. Where children enjoy swings. There is a crowd of devotees in the morning and evening and in the afternoon, women’s bhajan kirtans are organised. A hospital is open in the temple premises. Where people coming there are treated free of cost.
History of the temple
Media in-charge of the temple Rajendra Goyal said that Durga Temple Shastri Nagar was established on July 5, 1989. There is a steady flow of devotees coming here every day. Devotees believe that Maa Durga definitely fulfills their wishes during Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri.
