Bhaskar Dubey, Lucknow: The digitalization vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also been adopted by the saints of 13 Akharas. All the Akharas have started preparing a digital data base of the Sadhus of their Akhara along with their history. The whole world witnessed the divine and grand Kumbh held in Prayagraj in 2019. Now, on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mahakumbh 2025 has moved towards going digital. With this, the whole world will now be able to watch the technology based Mahakumbh sitting at home.
The Kumbh Mela (which the government has named ‘Sarvasiddhipradha Kumbh’) held every six years in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has the largest gathering of people and is also a great example of public administration at the global level. This year this fair will run for about 45 days (13 January to 25 February). Like every time, crores of people are expected to participate this time. With the aim of further enhancing the grandeur of the fair and promoting it globally, the Yogi government’s emphasis is on making the entire fair digital.
For the first time, AI technology, apps, chatbots and Google navigation are being used in Mahakumbh. Every important information related to the fair will now be available online. Details of ghat, akhara as well as puja lessons and sermons will be online. Along with Ganga Aarti and puja, Prayagraj Fair Authority will also be able to evaluate every facility provided during the fair online. Also, 3D images of each camp will be uploaded on the fair website. The basic objective behind the digitization of the fair is to make it more secure, to promote it widely as well as to keep track of every activity and to make every facility available to the right person at the right time.
Recently, an MOU has been signed between the UP government and Google, after which Google will show the entire ‘Tent City’ online for the first time. Will guide you to ghats, temples, akhadas and locations of saints. Devotees will be able to easily reach Sangam beach, temple, and other places through Google Maps. Apart from this, Google Navigation will provide detailed description of places, routes, roads. It is estimated that 45 crore devotees will benefit from this facility.
Information about every place related to Maha Kumbh Mela will be uploaded on Google Navigation. Through the 3D images of the camp uploaded online, people will be able to experience what is happening in the fair area. Even if a person sitting abroad is unable to come to Prayagraj Mahakumbh due to some reason, he will still be able to experience being here. Keeping in mind the safety of the devotees, 328 cameras with AI lenses are being used in the entire fair area. These cameras will be able to do instant identification through face recognition technology.
Missing information can be shared on platforms like Facebook and X. Digital registration of the missing person will be done immediately. At the same time, digital and multilingual signage will be installed in the fair area. Apart from this, water level and possible floods will be monitored through water monitoring management system. Geo-tagging will be done through GPS based water level monitoring and Google Maps integration.
