In preparation for Mahakumbh, social service organizations and Akharas have made preparations to start Annakshetra on a large scale. About two hundred organizations have taken up the responsibility of providing food to the 70 lakh devotees coming to the fair every day. Due to this big responsibility no one will remain hungry this time. For this, more than 200 religious institutions are going to set up camps in the Kumbh area to serve food to all the devotees.
According to Additional Kumbh Mela Officer Vivek Chaturvedi, a large number of religious institutions are voluntarily taking up the responsibility of providing free food to the devotees coming to the fair. The State Food and Civil Supplies Department is also setting up 160 fair price shops in all sectors of the mela area. Where free ration will be distributed twice in January and February 2025. The benefits of which will be available to the institutions and those who do Kalpavas.
Thousands of people will be able to stay for free in Mahakumbh Mela
The government is also making arrangements for stay and accommodation for the common man during the Maha Kumbh Mela. On behalf of the government, LJS organization is building a hangar and sheet night shelter, inside which all the facilities will be free for the common people. This facility will be available for one day only, for this online registration will have to be done. Registration will also be done on the spot.
Cottages with various comforts and facilities are being prepared for accommodation in the Maha Kumbh Mela area. There is a competition between the government and private institutions to provide facilities with modern technologies in those cottages. The government is also taking care of the poor. On behalf of the government, LJS organization is building 18 night shelters in the fair area. 15 night shelters are being built in Arail and the rest in Sangam area. Work for this is going on at a fast pace. All night shelters will be prepared before the start of the fair.
Aditya Aggarwal, side in-charge of the organization, said that the tender has been given to his organization by the government. Of the night shelters, nine will be built on hangars using German technology and the same number will be made from tin sheets. A shelter has been built in an area of 25 × 40 meters, inside which there will be two hundred and fifty beds. Sheet, blanket, pillow, toilet, electricity and water will be free for each person during their stay. To avail the facilities here, online registration will be required. Along with this, registration will also be done on the spot. Necessary documents will have to be shown. About five thousand people will be able to stay every day in these night shelters being built.
