Mahakumbh Nagar. To keep Prayagraj Mahakumbh safe from cyber attacks, a total of 150 policemen of Prayagraj District Cyber Cell, Cyber Crime Police Station Prayagraj, Cyber Police Station Mahakumbh Mela and Cyber Cell formed at the district police station level are constantly keeping a watch.
The Office of the Director General of Police said that these policemen are keeping a constant vigil to deal with cases of fraudulent websites, social media and other cyber frauds and the Mela helpline number has been operationalized after these policemen have been trained by technical experts.
According to the official statement, District Cyber Cell Prayagraj is taking necessary legal action on the complaints related to cyber fraud received from the fair helpline number and the victims are being supported.
Till now, after technical and physical verification of a total of 78 suspicious websites that have come to the notice of the cyber cell, seven websites found to be fake have been closed down and a case has been registered against five fake websites in the cyber crime police station Prayagraj. The cyber crime team has also arrested four accused who are residents of Varanasi, Azamgarh and Nalanda.
