The number of devotees visiting Vindhyachal during Mahakumbh has increased a lot and in such a situation, the district administration has once again closed for three days in view of security. The duty of officers engaged in all zonal and sector magistrates has been extended on 15 February. So far, more than one crore devotees have visited Vindhyavasini Devi, the presiding deity of Vindhya region. Vindhyachal Varanasi Prayagraj road is completely jammed. The Maghi Purnima festival on Wednesday is expected to be the highest crowd ever. Vindhyachal has not seen such a crowd in a day. The crowd is increasing continuously here.
The district administration has made security arrangements on the lines of Kashi Vishwanath and Ayodhya Temple to control the crowd. Vindhyachal Mandal Commissioner Balakrishna Tripathi himself has taken command and camped in Vindhyachal itself. The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police and other officials are meeting and taking information about the system from moment to moment. On Sunday and Monday, more than 1.5 million devotees reached the mother’s darshan, making it difficult to handle the crowd. The district administration has made strict security arrangements.
After the Mahakumbh, the district administration was already estimated to return to the famous Vindhyachal Dham and see mother Vindhyavasini Devi here. Therefore, the administration has made complete arrangements for security. Millions of devotees are coming here these days. The entire Vindhyachal is full of visitors. There is no place from the ghats to the Vindhyachal Nagar area. The district administration is taking steps to ensure that the stampede does not arise. Police have made several changes in traffic after the commencement of Kumbh.
Large vehicles have been stopped from entering the Vindhyachal region. But this is proving insufficient. Millions of vehicles are crawling not every day. In fact, the roads of Mirzapur city are Mughal carpet streets. The entire area is under jam and crowd. For a week, Prayagraj Vindhyachal Varanasi road has been jammed. The passengers were stranded for hours. Top officials also had to handle the front in opening the jam. The route from the city to Vindhyachal was ten kilometers ahead of Natwa and behind.
District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan said that on Wednesday, Maghi Purnima is expected to be more crowded. It can be more than one million. Hence the security system has been like Navratri fair. Special arrangements have been made at the ghats. Additional District Magistrate Shivpratap Shukla, posted on the front at the fair, told that a lot of people are coming here from Prayagraj. Going to Kashi from here. While returning from Varanasi, the number of people coming here is not less. He informed that at this time there is water police etc. with paramilitary forces in Vindhyachal. Special arrangements have been made in view of the health system.
