Prayagraj, Amrit Vichar. During the Mahakumbh 2025 going to be held in Prayagraj, no devotee or Kalpa resident coming here will sleep on an empty stomach. The Yogi government has made extensive preparations for this in the fair area. Not only will stores be organized for the devotees in the entire fair area, they will also get the benefit of free ration facility. Ration cards will be made for the Kalpavasis and devotees staying in Mahakumbh for several days and they will get the facility of ration. Those already holding ration cards will also be provided ration on showing the ration card. For this, a total of 160 fair price ration shops will be established by the Food and Logistics Department in all the sectors of the entire fair area, from where ration will be provided twice (January-February). 5 godowns will also be established for storage of ration. More than Rs 43 crore will be spent on this entire project.
Will get free ration in two months
According to ADM Fair, Vivek Chaturvedi, during Mahakumbh, many devotees come and stay in the fair for many days. These are called Kalpavasi. They cook their own food. For their convenience, a total of 160 ration shops with fair rates are being established by the Food and Logistics Department in all the sectors of the entire fair area. Where not only will their ration card be made, but they will also be provided ration facilities. Those who already have ration card will also get the facility. This facility will be made available twice i.e. in January and February 2025. To ensure that there is no shortage of ration, 5 godowns are also being set up inside the fair area.
There will be separate outlets for the sale of LPG cylinders.
According to the project, food grains, sugar and cooking gas will be provided to Kalpvasis and devotees. Separate outlets will be set up for the sale of LPG cylinders. In addition to the 10 lakh permanent population, food stores will be organized for the temporary population, where ration will be supplied daily. According to an estimate, there are 5 people in one ration card, hence approximately 2 lakh ration cards will be required in two months. The special thing will also be that the devotees and Kalpavasis living in big akharas and camps will also get the benefit of this facility.
3 kg wheat and 2 kg rice will be available per person
Under the project, wheat/flour is provided at the rate of 3 kg per person to the ration card holder, while 2 kg rice (fortified) will be supplied per person. Similarly, 2 kg sugar (per person), 2 l. Kerosene (per ration card) and a domestic gas connection is provided. You can also get the facility to refill the domestic gas connection once.
