New Delhi. After a gap of five years, Kailash Mansarovar’s visit is going to start from both Uttarakhand and Sikkim routes between June and August this year and a total of 750 passengers will be able to go to the Dham of Mahadev.
Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, today organized a computerized draw for the selection of passengers registering for this visit here.
It will take 22 days to pass through Lipulekh Pass and 21 days through Nathu La Pass. This year, the journey on the way to the Lipulekh Pass will have five batches of 50-50 passengers, while the journey through Nathu La Pass will go to 10 batch. Both routes are now fully driven by motor.
Passengers going through Uttarakhand will no longer have to walk on foot. The road has been built up to Lipulekh Pass. They only have to walk about one kilometer to cross the border. Passengers are informed about their selection through SMS and email messages.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, 5561 applicants had successfully registered online this year which included 4024 male applicants and 1537 female applicants. Regarding the expenses of the journey, it has been told in the website that about one lakh 74 thousand rupees will be charged for Uttarakhand route and two lakh 83 thousand rupees per passenger for those who go by Sikkim.
Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh in his address highlighted the steps taken by the government to make the yatra more accessible and to make the process more transparent, ensuring safety and welfare. He urged the Yatris to take a pilgrimage with responsibility, humility and devotion while taking care of each other and protecting the sanctity of the environment.
