Today is Somvati Amavasya. The month of September is considered special for some festivals. Many major fasts and festivals including Hartalika Teej, Mahalakshmi Vrat, Ganesh Utsav, Radha Ashtami, Rishi Panchami, Pitru Paksha will be celebrated this month. Astrology expert Pandit Umesh Shastri Daivagya said that the zodiac sign of three big planets will change. The month started from the second day of Krishna Paksha. For this reason, the fast is very important in terms of festivals as well as planetary transit. On September 7, the first worshipable among the gods, Shri Ganesha, will also arrive. Lord Ganesha will be seated in homes and pandals for 10 days. Amrit Siddhi is also there on 19, 23, 26 dates and Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga is there on 7, 9, 20 dates. There will be Swayam Siddh Abujh Muhurta on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Hartalika Teej fast is observed on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year, Tritiya Tithi will start on September 5 at 10:04 am and will end on September 6 at 12:08 pm. Hartalika Teej fast will be observed on Udaya Tithi, September 6. The auspicious time for fasting and worship is from 6:02 am to 8:33 am.
Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Puja begins on the Chaturthi of the Bhadrapad month. This year, this date will begin on September 6 at 3:02 pm. Chaturthi Tithi will be on September 7 at 5:38 pm. Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 7 based on Udaya Tithi. The auspicious time for idol installation is from 11:02 am to 1:33 pm on September 7.

Shraddha, Tarpan and Pinddaan are performed during Pitru Paksha for the peace of the souls of ancestors. Every year, Pitru Paksha begins on the full moon day of Bhadrapada month and ends on Amavasya. This year, Pitru Paksha will begin on September 17 and end on October 2.
