Navratri 2nd day Maa Brahmacharini: On the second day of Navratri, Maa Brahmacharini, the second form of mother, is worshipped. Mother’s form is very bright and grand. On the second day of Navratri, the mind of the seeker is situated in the Swadhisthana Chakra. Mother Brahmacharini performed rigorous penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. For this reason the mother was called a celibate and an ascetic. Mother Brahmacharini is the one who shows the right path to the wicked. By worshiping Mother Brahmacharini, evil tendencies like laziness, ego, greed, untruth, selfishness and jealousy go away. Remembering mother brings concentration and stability. Along with this, intelligence, discretion and patience also increases. Devotion to Mother increases qualities like power of penance, renunciation, virtue, restraint and renunciation in a person. At present Shardiya Navratri is going on. 4th October is the second day of Navratri.

On this day, wake up early in the morning and take bath, then purify the place of worship by pouring Ganga water.
Light a lamp in the home temple.
Anoint Maa Durga with Ganga water.
Now offer Arghya to Mother Durga.
Offer Akshat, vermilion and red flowers to the mother, offer fruits and sweets as Prasad.
Light incense and lamps and recite Durga Chalisa and then perform the Mother’s Aarti.
