Jitiya fast is very special for mothers. According to the Panchang, Jitiya fast is observed every year on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. It is also known as Jivitputrika Vrat and Jiutiya. Let us tell you that on this day mothers keep Nirjala fast for their children and worship Lord Jimutvahan ritually.

Method of worship of Jitiya fast-
Let us tell you that on the day of the fast, wake up early in the morning and take a bath, then wear clean clothes and offer water to Lord Surya and worship him in a proper manner. After this, place a stool in the temple of the house, spread a red cloth on it and place a plate on top of it, place the idol of Surya Narayan in the plate, now bathe him with milk.
Offer lamp and incense to God, then offer bhog and do aarti. Now make idols of jackal and eagle from clay or cow dung. After this, worship the idol of Jimutvahan made from kusha, offer incense, lamp, flowers and rice to him, after this listen to the Vrat Katha and ask for forgiveness for your mistakes.
