Jaunpur, Amrit Vichar: This time during Shardiya Navratri starting from October 3, Goddess Shakti will sit in every house riding on an elephant. Along with this, a nine-day ritual of worshiping nine forms of Goddess Durga will also be started. It is believed that Mother Bhavani travels on earth for nine days of Navratri and removes the sufferings of her devotees.
Worship and recitation of Durga Saptashati will start in homes and temples in the entire district including Jaunpur city. In her first form the mother is known as ‘Shailputri’. On the first day of Navratri, Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Bhagwati, is being worshipped. She was named ‘Shailputri’ because she was born as a daughter in the house of mountain king Himalaya. By worshiping them, the ill effects related to Moon are eliminated. On the first day of Navratri, people of Jaunpur and surrounding areas remain engrossed in devotion since morning in the worship of Goddess Shailputri.
Worship of Goddess Durga starts with the installation of Kalash in temples and homes. On this occasion, crowds of devotees gather at the historical Shakti Mata Shitala Chowkia Dham as well as all the Devi temples in Jaunpur. This time Navratri festival is very special. Goddess Durga is arriving on an elephant, which is considered very auspicious.
Acharya Dr. Rajnikant Dwivedi told that on the first day of Shardiya Navratri starting from Thursday, there is special significance of establishing the Kalash while chanting Vedic mantras. That is why establishing it in an auspicious time will be fruitful. Worshiping Kalash brings happiness, wealth, glory, opulence, peace, family progress and destruction of disease and grief. With the blessings of the Mother of the World and the wish of all accomplishment, the worshipers will recite a total of 700 verses of the 13 chapters of Durga Saptashati while consuming fruits or sattvik food.
Under these ten days of Durga Puja, four Ravi Yoga, two Siddha Yoga, one Tripushkar Yoga, two Sarvartha Amrit Siddhi Yoga and one Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga are being formed. Apart from these, Preeti Yoga, Ayushman Yoga, Saubhagya Yoga, Shobhan Yoga and Sukarma Yoga will also be present. It would be best to start new works during the auspicious times of Navratri.
In Jaunpur city, under the auspices of Shri Durga Puja Mahasamiti, about 1000 temporary puja pandals will be constructed in the entire district including the city and worship idols of Maa Durga will be installed, where there is a crowd of devotees. Looking at Jaunpur city at night, it seems as if Kolkata itself has come to Jaunpur for Durga Puja. The pandals are decorated with full grandeur and Goddess songs are played through loudspeakers at all the puja pandals.
From security point of view, Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma has arranged for a large number of police around all the puja pandals. They have deployed women and police personnel in plain clothes during night hours so that a complete vigil can be kept on the undesirable elements. Similarly, District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra has also instructed the Executive Officer Municipal Council to smoothly carry out the cleanliness system of the entire city in view of Durga Puja and Shardiya Navratri.
