Amrit Vichar, Varanasi: Baba Shri Kashi Vishwanath will play Holi with Abir and Gulal, who came from Mathura as a gift from Laddu Gopal for the first time this year. Temple officials gave this information on Monday. Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, said that this will be the beginning of a new tradition in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Mishra said, “Under this tradition, a special gift has been sent by Kashi Vishwanath Dham for Laddu Gopal in Mathura. In return, Prasad Kashi Vishwanath Dham including Rang, Abir and Gulal has reached. Rangbhari Ekadashi and Holi will be celebrated with these colors.
He told that after talks with the secretary Kapil Sharma and Gopeshwar Chaturvedi of Krishna birthplace Mathura, this tradition has been started which will continue even further. He informed that the three -day ceremony of traditional Lokotsav Rangabhari Ekadashi is being celebrated in a grand manner in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham. On Sunday, the second day of the festival, devotees, dignitaries and locals participated in the turmeric festival of Shri Kashi Vishwanath and Mata Gaura. Temple officials said that the devotees from Mathura brought gifts and Gulal for Kashi Vishwanath, while tribal devotees from Sonbhadra offered herbal gulal made of Palash flowers. Representing the temple trust, Chief Executive Officer Vishwa Bhushan and District Magistrate Shambhu Sharan worshiped Shri Vishveshwar Mahadev and offered herbal gulal.
He told that Shri Kashi Vishwanath and Mata Gaura’s silver palanquin journey passed through the temple premises, devotees sang Phool, Turmeric, Abir and Gulal, singing devotional songs. According to the officials, in the evening, the silver statue of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mahadev and mother Gaura reached the temple chowk on the temple premises. During this time, devotees welcomed the palanquin journey with the shouts of Har-Har Mahadev. Varanasi Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma reached Dham and wished Mars to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mahadev and Mata Gaura by offering turmeric, gulal and flowers. The turmeric festival of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mahadev and Mata Gaura was the center of special attraction for the devotees and Kashiwasi who came to Dham. A large number of devotees performed the tradition by offering turmeric on the statue of Vishwanath Mahadev and mother Gaura.
