You can also keep the idol or statue of Ganesha in the northern part or northeastern part of your house and light a lamp in the southeast. Chant the mantra Om Pundarikakshaya Namah while sprinkling water on yourself. Bow to Lord Ganesha and rinse your mouth three times and apply tilak on the forehead. After installing the idol, bathe Ganesha with Ganga water and Panchamrit. Offer him clothes, sacred thread, sandalwood, durva, akshat, incense, lamp, shami leaf, yellow flowers and fruits. Recite Ganesh Chalisa. Offer food according to your faith. Finally, perform the aarti of Ganesha and ask for blessings and forgiveness for the fulfillment of your wishes.
