Once you start the fast of Hartalika Teej, you have to follow it for the rest of your life. If you ever fall ill, your husband or any other woman can observe this fast in your place. This Teej fast is waterless, so do not consume food or water on this day even by mistake.
Apart from this, on the second day, offer turmeric kumkum to Goddess Parvati and cucumber halwa. It is considered essential to offer cucumber and corn to the Goddess in the worship of Goddess Parvati on this day. Worship should be done both in the morning and evening on Hartalika Teej. On this day, women should stay awake at night and sing bhajans and worship the clay Shivling in the morning. The next day, after worshiping the Goddess, break the fast by eating cucumber.
