This year, the festival of Phulera Dooj is being celebrated on 1 March day i.e. today. On this day, Lord Krishna and Radha Rani are duly worshiped and fasting is also kept etc.

Phulera Dooj Vrat Katha –
According to mythology, once he and Radha Rani could not meet him and Radha Rani due to the busyness of Lord Krishna’s life. Radha Rani became very sad due to not being able to meet Lord Krishna. All the flowers of Vrindavan wilted due to Radha Rani being depressed. The trees and plants started drying up and the branches broke down and fell down. Not only this, the birds stopped tweeting due to Radha Rani being depressed. The flow of water flowing in the river stopped.

All this was done just because Radha Rani and Lord Krishna could not meet. Seeing this situation, the gopis were also sad. At the same time, Radha Rani did not eat anything nor drink anything. Only Lord Krishna used to wait for Krishna. When Lord Krishna saw the sadness of Vrindavan, he understood that Radha Rani is the reason for all these. After this, he immediately came to meet Radha Rani.

When Radha Rani met Lord Krishna, all trees and flowers blossomed once again in Vrindavan. The birds started chirping. The river started flowing. The gopis became happy. Radha Rani met Bhagavan Shri Krishna on the day of Phulera Dooj. On meeting, Lord Krishna broke the flowers and threw him on Radha Rani. Radha Rani also did the same. After this, all the Gwal and Gopis also started throwing flowers at each other. In this way, Holi of flowers started to be played on the day of Phulera Dooj.
