Like Janmashtami, Radha Ashtami has special significance. Lord Shri Krishna’s name is always taken with Radha ji. Radha Ashtami festival is celebrated 15 days after Krishna Janmashtami. According to the Hindu calendar, Radha Ashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami day of Bhadrapada. This year Radha Ashtami will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 11. It is believed that the worship of Lord Krishna is incomplete without Radha Rani. Therefore, Radha Rani’s name is taken along with the name of Lord Krishna. Like the festival of Krishna Janmashtami, Radha Ashtami is also celebrated with great pomp. Fasting on Radha Ashtami destroys all sins. On this day, married women observe fast for the attainment of child happiness and unbroken good fortune. According to mythology, Lord Krishna automatically becomes happy with those who please Radha ji. It is said that by fasting, Goddess Lakshmi comes to the house and wishes are fulfilled. Method of worship of Radha Ashtami fast-
-Take bath in the morning.
After this, make a circle below the pavilion and place an earthen or copper pot in its center.
-Place a copper vessel on the Kalash.
– Now place a gold idol (if possible) of Radhaji adorned with clothes and ornaments on this vessel.
-After that worship Radhaji with Shodashopachar.
– Keep in mind that the time of puja should be exactly noon.
After the puja, observe a complete fast or eat one meal.
– On the second day, according to your faith, feed married women and Brahmins and give them Dakshina.
