Mahashivaratri fast story –
According to Shivpuran, once a Bhil lived in Kashi, his name was Gurudruh. He used to run his house by hunting wild animals. Once Gurudruh went to the forest to hunt on Mahashivaratri.
But he did not get any victim throughout the day. In search of hunting, he sat on a bilva tree at night. There was also a Shivling under that tree. After some time Gurudruh saw a deer. As soon as Gurudruh shot Hirani, the arrows on the bow, the leaves of Bilvvriksha fell on the Shivling.
In this way, Shiva worshiped inadvertently from the hunter at the first hour of the night. Hirani looked at the hunter and said, ‘Don’t kill me now, my children are looking at my way. I will return to you by handing them to my sister. Gurudruh left that deer. After a while, Hirani’s sister came there. This time too, Gurudruh shot an arrow on the bow to kill him, then the bilva patra fell again on the Shivling and Shiva was worshiped. Hirani’s sister also left for the children to come to a safe place.
After some time a deer came there, this time the same happened and Shiva was worshiped in the third hour too. After some time, both the deer and the deer, following their pledge, came to Gurudruh as a victim. As soon as Gurudruh offered an arrow on the bow to kill him, Shiva was also worshiped in the fourth watch at this time. Gurudruh was hungry and thirsty for a day. In this way, in the unknown, he also got the fast of Mahashivaratri, which made his intellect clean. As soon as this happened, he gave up the idea of killing the deer. Then Lord Shiva also appeared there and appeared there. Shivji gave him a boon that ‘Shri Ram, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Tretayuga, will meet you and will also befriend you.’ The same hunter became Nishadraj in Tretayuga, which Shri Ram befriended. The fast of what he hears this story on Mahashivaratri is fulfilled and every wish of it is also fulfilled. Hearing this story, the person resides in Shiva world after death.
