Lucknow. On the second Monday of the holy Shravan month of Lord Shiva, there was a wonderful enthusiasm of devotion in Uttar Pradesh. Crowds of devotees thronged the Shiva temples in the entire state including Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bareilly, Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Kanpur since morning. Devotees were absorbed in the worship of Lord Shiva with Belpatra, Dhatura, Flowers, Sandalwood and Deepak. The Kanwariyas were seen doing Jalabhishek of their adorable by bringing the water of Ganga and other holy rivers from far and wide. Drone and CCTV cameras were used along with the police to maintain arrangements in temples.
According to information received from Varanasi, long queues of devotees started to be started in Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple from 3 am. After Mangala Aarti, the order of darshan and Jalabhishek started. The temple complex echoed with the shouts of ‘Har Har Mahadev’. Vishwabhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, said that Kavandis and devotees were welcomed with flowers. In the Shringar Aarti, devotees will see the joint form of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. For the convenience of devotees, a red carpet was laid in the temple premises.
Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal said that keeping in mind the rising water level of Ganga, teams of water police and NDRF are deployed. The operation of boats is completely closed. Eight drones and 600 CCTV cameras are being monitored for security arrangements.
The queues of devotees continued in the Dudhwara Mahadev temple in Ghaziabad since morning, while all the pagoda, including Mankameshwar and Budheshwar temples of Lucknow, resonated with the sound of ‘Har Har Mahadev’. In Kanpur, devotees worshiped Lord Shiva with full rituals in temples like Anandeshwar, Siddheshwar, Vankhandeshwar and Nageshwar.
