Jyotishacharya SS Nagpal said that worship of Lord Shiva has special significance in Sawan. The first is Monday 14 July, second 21, third 28 and fourth Monday is on 4 August. On the first Monday, the coincidence of Gajanan Sankashti Chaturthi and Ayushman Yoga are being made.
Nagpal told that according to Shiva Purana, a person who fasts on Monday fulfills all his wishes. Ganesh, Parvati and Nandi ji are also worshiped along with Shiva. Sawan has a law to perform Aarti with Karpoor (camphor) by worshiping water, milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar, janeu, sandalwood, belpatra, cannabis etc. Rudrabhishek has special significance. Lord Shiva is pleased by chanting the mantra of Shiva, reciting Rudrasukta, Small Rudri, Maharudri.
