Kanpur, Amrit Vichar. On Dev Diwali, 24 ghats of the city were alive on Friday. Such a sight was seen during the festival of lights. The Ganga was seen spreading beautiful colors due to the twinkling sheets of lamps. The ghats were illuminated with about one lakh lamps amidst colorful fringes.
Devotees were seen drenched in spirituality due to the bhajan evening at the ghats. Due to the festival of Kartik Purnima, there was a crowd of devotees at the ghats since Friday morning and they took a dip in the Ganga and performed worship and charity. Mother Tulsi was bid farewell by adorning and worshiping her in the houses.
On Kartik Purnima, there was a crowd of devotees at the Ganga ghats from four in the morning. According to the belief, devotees took a dip in the Ganga and worshiped and made donations. Bathing in Ganga on this day removes sufferings and ends the sins of many births. Devotees donated food and clothes and lit lamps on the ghats to bring happiness and prosperity.
Tulsi Mata was worshiped in homes as per rituals. The makeup material was offered to the Mother Goddess and the Aarti was performed. Dev Diwali is also celebrated on this day. According to the belief, Shiva Shankar had killed the demon Tripurasura, due to which the gods were pleased and celebrated Diwali on earth.
Deepotsav was seen on Dev Diwali on Friday at all the 24 ghats of the city. Devotees, priests, saints and organizations together donated lamps at the ghats. So that every ghat remains illuminated. After the lamp donation, the bhajan evening started. There was a huge celebration.
These ghats lit up with one lakh lamps
Atal Ghat Ganga Barrage, Rani Ghat, Bhairav Ghat, Parmat Ghat, Gola Ghat, Guptar Ghat, Bhagwatdas Ghat, Sarsaiya Ghat, Baba Ghat, Kali Ghat, Shyam Ghat, Kamleshwar Ghat, Ganesh Ghat, Magazine Ghat, Brahmavart Ghat, Laxman Ghat, Deodighat, Shekhpur. Ghat, Siddhanath Ghat, Bengali Ghat, Dabakeshwar Ghat, Coal ghat etc.
Bhajans made the atmosphere spiritual
On the initiative of Ganga Dev Diwali Committee, Dev Diwali is continuing continuously starting from 2021. Like every year, a grand event was organized on Friday also. Committee General Secretary Praveen Kumar Shukla said that taking the tradition forward on the lines of Kashi, many voluntary organizations have come forward and are taking part in the event.
Committee Chairman Balayogi Arun Puri, Vice Chairman Ashish Kumar Pandey, Treasurer Rajeev Shukla, Amit Aggarwal, Minister Brajesh Sharma Bebu, Vandana Gupta, Gaurav Dwivedi, Madan Bhatia, Kapil Bajpai, Ashok Pandey, Satyam participated in Bhajan evening and lamp donation at various ghats on Friday. Tripathi, Sumit Dixit, Raj Kishore etc. and lit more than one lakh lamps.
The sky became colorful with fireworks
Dev Diwali was celebrated with great pomp at LIC Park Shyamnagar on Kartik Purnima. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s provincial Sanghchalak Bhavani started the program by begging and lighting a lamp. The main speaker, co-province contact chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Arvind Mehrotra, threw light on the importance of Dev Diwali, the mythological story of Tulsi marriage and worship on Kartik Purnima. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar welcomed the guest and speaker. The program was presided over by Gopal Chandra Pandey and conducted by Narendra Sachan. On this occasion, children won applause in Rangoli decoration, group dance and singing. Children decorated about 200 rangoli. Prizes were distributed to children. Rashmi, Monica and Mohini played a major role in park decoration and lamp lighting.
At last the sky became colorful with fireworks. The chief guest honored Uma Shankar Gupta, Ram Kishore Tripathi and Om Prakash Pandey of the area by presenting mementos. Anurudh Gupta, Sanjeev Raizada, Deepak Gupta, Rakesh Kulshrestha, Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar, Chandra Kumar Gangwani, Arun Kumar Gupta, Vinod Shankar Dixit, Vinay Patel, Prem Nath Vishnoi etc. were present in the program.
Ghats illuminated with rangoli and lamps
The festival of Dev Diwali was celebrated at Sarsaiya Ghat on Friday in the presence of Karauli Shankar Mahadev. On this occasion, blankets were distributed to saints and the needy. On the day of Kartik Purnima, devotees donated lamps after bathing in Ganga and praised Mother Ganga and sought blessings for prosperity. Shankar Sena members and devotees together lit thousands of lamps at the Ganga Ghat. Due to which the ghats appear sparkling. In the evening, the ghats looked colorful when illuminated with lamps.
Rangoli was decorated, Dev Diwali was written with lamps. The stairs of the ghat were decorated and saints were honoured. It is believed that the gods had decorated heaven with lamps to celebrate the killing of the demon Tripurasura and on the day of Dev Diwali in Kashi, all the gods come to light lamps. On this occasion, Shankar Sena state president Subodh Chopra, Brijendra Singh, Ayush Dwivedi, Bablu Sonkar, Vivek Dwivedi, Rajesh Sharma, Ashok Sen, Bablu Pandey, Prashant Srivastava etc. were present.
