Astrology News Desk: Many fasts and festivals are celebrated in Sanatan Dharma and all have their own importance but Pradosh Vrat is considered very special which falls twice every month. This date is dedicated to Lord Shiva. On this day, devotees duly worship Lord Bholenath and also keep fasts etc.
It is believed that by doing this, the Lord’s infinite grace is showered and sorrows and pains are removed. According to the Hindu calendar, the month of Bhadrapad is going on right now and the first Pradosh fast of this month is being observed today i.e. on 31st August, Saturday. On worshipping Shiva Parvati with devotion on this day, the person gets auspicious results. Along with this, if Shri Pretraj Chalisa is recited with devotion on this day, then one gets relief from the wrath of Saturn and auspicious prosperity comes.

I worship Lord Ganesha and touch my feet of the Guru.
I should write a chalisa for Pretraj ji, with joy.
Victory to the powerful lord of ghosts, who takes away all the burden of sorrow.
Victory to the brave warrior, victory to Pretraj Sarkar.
॥ Chaupai ॥
Hail Hail Pretraj, pure in the world. Very powerful, removes the three types of troubles.
A fierce warrior, an ocean of compassion. He removes all the troubles of his devotee and has all the virtues.
The throne studded with gems looks beautiful. Seeing and listening, the mind of the sages is captivated.
The crown looks beautiful on the head, the earrings in the ears are very pleasing to the heart.
Bow, dagger, arrow and spear. The heroic attire is very fierce.
A huge army with elephant riding. Drums and cymbals are beating.
Umbrella, fan and head are swaying. Devotees gather together and chant Jai Jai.
Devotee Shiromani Veer Prachanda. Evil Dalan, Shobhit Bhujdanda.
The earth trembles with the moving army. The sins of Kaliyuga get eradicated by seeing it.
Coming to Ghata Mehandipur, Pretraj, the ocean of virtues appeared.
The red flag is flying in the sky. The dancing devotees are engrossed in their hearts.
Swami who fulfils the desires of his devotees. Bajrangi’s famous servant.
The one who fulfills desires. The one who removes all sorrows and problems.
Whoever comes with whatever wish, they all get the fruits desired by their mind.
Patients who come for treatment, get well soon and go back home.
Ghosts, vampires and jinns ran away seeing this ferocious form.
All physical body pain is removed quickly by playing this sport.
The difficult task is to survive in the world. Everybody would have been named Ratat or Puran.
They serve with their heart, mind and money. God removes all their problems.
O my compassionate Lord. I am lying at your feet.
I have no one except you. You are my only refuge, O Lord.
My shame is in your hands. I am relying on your feet.
I pray to this method with all my heart and soul. All the diseases and sorrows will go away from my body.
He has taken the Mehandipur incarnation. He has removed the sorrows of his devotees.
Sick, mad, childless. Ghost disease snatched away son and wealth.
Whoever comes to your door, goes back home getting the desired results.
The glory is spread all over the earth. The devotees have sung the leela.
Mahant Ganesh Puri is an ascetic. He worships with all his heart and soul.
He takes the mace in his hand and grinds it. The messengers stand there.
Red body, vermilion in the body. Trembling in the ghost house.
Whoever recites Pretraj Chalisa daily one or twenty times.
Take bath in the morning. Apply oil and vermillion.
Offer sandalwood, perfume and flowers. Wear a garland of flowers.
Take camphor and perform aarti. Pray and say victory.
All their troubles would be over. They would return home happily.
They fulfill the wishes of the people. The desires of the mind get fulfilled.
The devotee is the destroyer of the enemy clan. All sins are freed by meditating.
Victory to the ghost lord. Victory to the lord of troubles.
The man who reads Pret Chalisa, never remains in pain.
Says the devotee, concentrate in your mind. Pretraj is at the holy feet.
