Kanpur, Amrit Vichar. Navratri started from today. Mother Goddess Durga is present in pandals and homes. The temples of the city have been decorated. Shops of prasad, chunri and fruits and flowers are decorated outside the temples. On Wednesday, a day before Navratri, there was a special glow in the markets.
Grand courts are decorated in Durga temples. The pandals have been given the form of palaces. On the first day of Navratri, Shailputri, the first form of mother, will be worshiped in homes and temples. Along with installing Kalash in homes, devotees also observed a fast. A huge crowd of devotees gathered in the temples since morning for darshan and worship.
The temples are decorated with lights. Devotees are pleasing Goddess Bhagwati by visiting and worshiping in temples like Kali Mathiya, Tapeshwari Devi, Buddha Devi, Ujiyari Devi, Barah Devi, Vaishno Mata Darbar Barra, Jangli Devi etc. Devotees bought idols and decorated them to install the idol of Mata in their homes.
Auspicious time for establishing Kalash
According to the Panchang, there are two auspicious times for establishing the Kalash on the first day of Shardiya Navratri. The first auspicious time will be from 6.02 minutes to 7.07 minutes in the morning. After this, the second time for Ghatasthapana is in the afternoon. This Muhurta will last from 11.34 am to 12.21 pm. Kalash can be established during this time also.
Different queues for darshan
Baradevi, Tapeshwari, Jangaldevi Ujiyari and Kali Mathiya temples of the city witness huge crowd of devotees every day. Fairs are also organized outside these temples. Special attention has been paid to barricading in these temples. There will be separate lines for male and female devotees.
Mata will sit in 285 pandals
Today Mata Durga will be present in 285 pandals of the city. Grand pandals of Mata have been built like palaces in areas like Kidwainagar, Ratanlalnagar, Ashoknagar, Armapur, Mallroad, Motijheel, Pandunagar etc. On Thursday, Mata will be present in the pandal decorated with colorful lights and flowers. Additional Police Commissioner Law and Order Harish Chander said that this time the idol of Durga will be installed in 285 pandals in the city.
