Prayagraj, Amrit Vichar: Shardiya Navratri started from Thursday. Preparations for this were done in homes and temples till late night. Maa Bhagwati was installed in temples along with houses as per the rituals. The puja started with the installation of Kalash in homes. Before Navratri, the first form of Goddess Shailputri is being worshipped. Devotees queued up in the temples since morning to have darshan of the Goddess and reached Maa Alopshankari Devi Temple and Kalyani Devi Temple.
On the very first day of Navratri, at the auspicious time, people took bath in the Sangam and started installing Kalash in the temples. Pandit Diwakar Mishra explains that this worship and fast is done on Shardiya Navratri to get relief from worldly desires and troubles in the family. Whereas on Chaitra Navratri, people worship and fast for the fulfillment of spiritual desires and attain salvation. Ghat Sthapana will be done on Thursday after sunrise till 9.48 am or in Abhijit Muhurta after 11.22 am till 12.09 am.
Strict security arrangements in temples
The crowd of devotees increases in Goddess temples during Navratri. This is the reason why strict security arrangements have been made by the police administration. Temples will be monitored through CC TV cameras. At the same time, forces have been deployed for security around Durga Puja pandals.
