The tradition of establishing the Kalash and sowing barley in an earthen pot in Navratri has been going on for a long time. It is believed that doing so brings happiness, prosperity and well-being in the house. According to religious beliefs, barley is considered to be a form of Brahmaji. On the Pratipada date of Navratri, before starting the worship of Maa Durga, water is offered in barley. And it is installed in the Kalash. Sowing barley is considered important to get the blessings of Goddess Bhagwati. The jowar growing in Navratri also gives many signs. Let us know the auspicious and inauspicious signs received from jowar and what should be done with them after Navratri?
Auspicious and inauspicious signs from the barley
It is believed that if the colour of the barley is half green on top and half yellow on the bottom, it means that the coming year may be difficult for half of the time, but later the conditions will become normal.
On the other hand, if the colour of the barley remains yellow on the top half and yellow on the bottom half, then it can be a sign of auspicious beginning of the year and arrival of challenges in the later times.
If the barley is growing in white or green colour, then it is considered a very auspicious sign. This makes your puja successful.
On the other hand, if the barley becomes dry and yellow and starts falling, then it is not considered a good sign. In such a case, one should worship Goddess Bhagwati with proper rituals to get rid of troubles.
