Confusion regarding third and fourth date
Most of the astrologers are telling the progress of Tritiya Tithi of Shardiya Navratri. But according to the scholars of Kashi, the date of Chaturthi is increasing. According to Padmabhushan Pt. Vashishtha Tripathi, President of Kashi Vidvat Parishad and Astrologer Pt. Rameshwarnath Ojha, editor of Mahavir Panchang of Kashi, Chaturthi Tithi is increasing and Navami Tithi is decreasing in Shardiya Navratri. Chaturthi Tithi will start from 0453 am on Sunday, October 6 and will continue till 615 am on Monday, October 7. It is increasing due to Chaturthi Tithi falling in the sunrise period for two days. At the same time, according to Pandit Chintamani Joshi, in some almanacs, Tritiya Tithi is shown as 5 and 6 and in some, Chaturthi Tithi is shown as 6 and 7 October.
Mahanavami and Dussehra one day
According to astrologer Vibhor Indusut, Mahanavami and Dussehra will be celebrated on the same day on 12th October. Actually, Navami Tithi will be present from sunrise to 10.58 am on October 12 and Dashami will be present from 10.58 am on 12th to 9.08 am on 13th. At the time of Ravana Dahan in the evening, Dashami Tithi will be on 12th October only. Therefore, Dussehra puja and Ravana Dahan will be done on 12th October only. Kanya Puja will be performed on Navami between the morning of 12th October till 1058 and Dussehra puja will be done after 1058.
