Stale offerings climb to Sheetla Mata
On the day of Sheetla Ashtami, it is the practice of offering stale offerings to the Mother Goddess. Which is prepared a day before. It is believed that Sheetla Mata likes cold cold things. Because of which devotees also consume the same stale food. Many types of disease infections are cured by this. At the same time, worshiping the goddess also cures diseases like smallpox and measles. Sheetla Mata cures all the diseases of her devotees.
Devotees offer many things to the mother on Sheetla Ashtami. So that the mother is pleased and blessed. Such as sweet rice, stale pua, gram dal, jaggery -made, pudding, sweets, fruits etc.
