Lucknow. Preparations for Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the largest religious event of Braj region, are in the final stages. On the 5252nd birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, the enthusiasm of devotees in Mathura and surrounding areas is at its peak. According to the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, this year only more than 50 lakh devotees are expected to reach Mathura. Keeping in mind the crowd and security of the devotees, the local administration has made special arrangements.
Small and big platforms have been decorated in the city, on which close to one thousand artists will give cultural performances. Tourism and Culture Minister Jayveer Singh said that in Mathura-Vrindavan, grand Shobha Yatra will come out from the main road to the streets of the city for three days. The spiritual and cultural heritage of Braj will be displayed through traditional tableaux, cultural programs and diverse activities during the festival.
In fact, a large number of devotees have started arriving due to continuous leave of three days from August 15 to 17. The department estimates that this year, there will be a flood of domestic and foreign tourists in Mathura-Vrindavan region. He told that grand preparations have been made in Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Barsana and Gokul. Through which devotees and tourists will be able to experience the pastimes related to the life of Lord Krishna.

Jayveer Singh said that the atmosphere of devotion about Sri Krishna Janmashtami in Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, Nandgaon and Govardhan is at its peak. In the streets of Mathura, the tableaux of Shri Krishna Bal Leela are decorating. At the same time, temples are being decorated with flowers, fasad lighting, rangoli and lamps.
On August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day, a grand procession will come out from Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. From the streets of Mathura to Vrindavan, Barsana, Nandgaon and Govardhan temples, a series of processions will create a devotional atmosphere. Radha-Krishna temples are being decorated with flowers, rangoli and lamps. Folk artists from Rajasthan and Haryana, along with Braj and Bundelkhand, will perform dance on Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
The program will get a special glimpse of rye, kachchi mare and Gujri dance. At the same time, Bhajan Mandal of ISKCON and Radha Rani Temple of Barsana will make the devotees emotional through Bhakti Sandhya. Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Mukesh Kumar Meshram informed that special preparations have been made for religious and cultural programs in Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Gokul, Barsana and Nandgaon on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Janmashtami is not only a religious festival, but a symbol of the rich cultural heritage of Braj. The tourism department will welcome devotees and tourists coming from all over the world, strengthening the tourist facilities.
