Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: Chhath festival is starting from Tuesday. The police have also made preparations for this. DGP Prashant Kumar has issued several instructions regarding security at Chhath puja places and ghats in the state. In this, apart from making special arrangements for the safety of women on the ghats, instructions have been given regarding the deployment of divers and women policemen in plain clothes. It is necessary to get videography done during puja and other programs at the ghats.
DGP Prashant Kumar said that women and children are present in large numbers on the Chhath festival starting from November 5. In this context, it has been said that there should be no negligence in the safety of women. Anti Romeo squads were also present at crowded places. The DGP said that people often burst firecrackers at major ghats. Keeping this in view, arrangements for fire brigades must be made at these ghats. Monitoring should be done through CCTV cameras. Besides, videography should also be done during the program at the ghats.
DGP has asked to increase security at railway and bus stations. There is a lot of crowd at both these stations on Chhath. In this matter, it has been asked to prepare an action plan in advance. It has also been asked to do foot patrolling in crowded places. LIU has also been alerted. DGP said that all social media platforms should be closely monitored. Any kind of objectionable and false post should be removed immediately. Also, strict action should be taken against those who do so.
